Article Marketing - I'll Tell You My Fears if You Tell Me Yours

Here are some common fears, misconceptions and hesitations that I myself experienced when I first began writing articles for the web. Do you know what carrying around such fear accomplishes?

NOTHING!

Your fear and self-doubt prevents you from submitting web articles that serve as global marketing for your website, ebook, ezine, blog... and any other place where you market your unique product and services! And that stops your business from booming like it can so easily out here on the web.

Some of the below fears took me as long as JUST LAST WEEK to expel from my brain! (Okay - maybe last month).

Dina's Article Fear 1: My article must not have any typos, ever!

Dina's Article Fear 2: No one will notice my articles in such a congested (popular) category as mine.

Dina's Article Fear 3: I can't write an article that's under 800 words.

Dina's Article Fear 4: I can't write articles as fast as I need to keep up with the volume needed on the web.

Dina's Article Fear 5: I will attract "lower food chain" clients if I write articles that are short and simple.

One noteworthy point about my past article fears:

Ultimately, my fears never stopped me from writing articles. Hence, I was able to blow past all of them and move closer toward my article marketing goals.

I took my articles to the next level by following along with what Chris and the EzineArticles.com team had to offer in the way of article direction, support and motivation. YOU CAN, TOO. And if you want to grow a business on the web - this information is crucial.

Should I Use Article Marketing Techniques Or Do I Bum It?

Article Marketing is a successful way to acquire traffic for your website. It has become more popular recently especially with the coined term Bum Marketing. There are differences to each technique, but basically they are both Article Marketing Techniques.

Article Marketing is easy to implement and can be very effective for acquiring free search engine traffic. For the record it is considered off page SEO.

Basically, you write a short 300 to 500 word article on a niche market keyword and add a keyword rich link in your bio box to the website you want to promote. You then submit the article to one of the many article directory sites and anywhere from 2 days to two weeks you should be listed in the search engines.

Repeat the above step a few times with different articles in the same niche as your website with another niche keyword linking back to your website and you will be listed very fast in the search engines.

Bum Marketing is a name that was coined in the last year. It is exactly the same as Article Marketing but with a slight twist.

You would write the same short 300 to 500 word article on a niche market keyword. But, this time you want to use what is called a long tail keyword.

This keyword is so exact in its phrasing that usually has very small amounts of searches done using it every month. And, the kicker is that it has very little and sometimes no competition for that keyword. This means that there is practically no website competing to use the keyword. If you are really lucky there is also little to no PPC programs using that keyword.

Long tail keywords are popular now because it is felt that anyone that does search for this type of keyword is a hungry buyer. It is reasoned that a searcher is looking for a precise item for example charcoal pre-filter for Honeywell Air Cleaner instead of using the general keyword, Air Cleaner. General keywords are considered hard to convert to sales. A searcher of a general keyword is a so called tire kicker who is shopping around but has not made up his mind to buy.

Finally, in the authors bio box of a Bum Marketing article you link directly to the affiliate program you want to promote instead of linking to your website. I think it is similar to the Google Cash promotion method used in promoting via Adwords.

In a nutshell these are the differences between Article Marketing and Bum Marketing. Both are very effective at becoming a successful Affiliate Marketer.

Success Strategies For E-Mail Marketing

Mastering e-mail is an essential skill that is because e-mail marketing is very profitable. But you need some skills in order to succeed, regardless of the audience.

#1 - Know how to capture email addresses. If you want to make any money from e-mail marketing you need to capture the visitors e-mail address. You need to master the art and science of capturing the covted e-mail address. The best way to capture email addresses is to give out a valuable ebook, audio or video in exchange for people's email addresses.

#2 - Take time to create a valuable product (something original, something that is YOURS not the crappy stuff you find on the Internet).

#4 - You must build a relationship with your list. E-mail them often, offer them useful stuff. When you browse the web and I find something useful, bookmark the site and later go back to it and work it into a post on your blog or website. #5 - Target your list with relavent offers. Don't offer them A when they really want B. Don't know what they want? Ask them! Promise them something in return for completing a survey or substantial discount on your next product.

#5 Persistance pays. Don't go overboard.

I was once told by an advertising firm that prospects need to see your offer more than 7 times to establish trust and make a purchase from you. If you e-mail your list 7 times in one day, count on getting a lot of individuals unsubscribing. Limit your e-mails to once or twice per day if you are offering alerts for new posts, and perhaps once per week if you publish an e-zine.

Follow these simple steps/rules and you will succeed in whichever market you are working in.
