Advanced Article Marketing Secrets - Learn The Fundamentals That Will Boost Your Profits Part 2

So by now you have come to the realization how important your list is. You understand the importance of first building a relationship with your subscribers so that you can sell to them later on and significantly improve your conversion rate.

Now let us look at the process of getting visitors to your website. You first need a compelling title. If it is boring then it is unlikely that people will actually read your article.

Subsequently I suggest that you write a 250 to 350 word article. The shorter articles do better for lead generation because the reader will see your resource box with a link to your website at the end and there is a bigger chance that they will click on it. I also suggest that you write in a relaxed conversational style like you are talking to a friend. You would only write in a long formal style if you were doing an essay for academic purposes.

Now this is where the important part where actual lead generation will take place. You need to create a squeeze page. This will consist of a headline with some bullet points. You need to offer a free report for download as an incentive for a visitor to give you their email address in exchange for a valuable report. You need to also add some html code to your web page to include the code that will submit the form with the email details to an autoresponder. I suggest that you use a professional one like Getresponse.

Finally, if you generate 5 to 10 leads every day you will build a stable business.

Write a Great Article In Just 4 Steps

Article marketing is a proven method of increasing traffic to your web site, and even people who claim they can't write a sentence can take advantage of it. Follow a few simple steps that will teach you to write articles -- articles that can mean more subscribers for your list and more sales of your product or service.

1. Choose a title that really grabs attention.

You're never going to get someone to read your article unless the headline grabs them and pulls them in. You're going to be competing against hundreds or thousands of other articles and in many cases, people will be scanning down a long list of titles to decide which article to read. Make yours stand out.

Here are some sample headlines you can use for your article titles:

  • How to _________ In _________ Steps.
  • How to _________ In _________ (Time Frame).
  • The Real Secret to Quickly ______________.
  • Top 2 Ways to ________________.
  • 3 Little Known Tips for _____________.
  • The Hidden Costs of ________________.

You may recognize those templates -- they're the foundation for many classic headlines that have made millions of dollars over the years. There's also software available that will crank out dozens of great article titles and all you have to do is fill in a few blanks.

2. Come up with 3-5 points of interest.

You can't throw everything and the kitchen sink into your article, and while one point can sometimes be expounded on for 500 - 700 words (the article length you should be shooting for) it's often best to go for 3 - 5 main points in your article.

If you write about 100 words for each point, add another hundred each for your opening and closing summary, you're right on the money for the required length. And, you won't overwhelm the reader with too much information.

3. Catch their interest with a great opening sentence.

You use the title to capture their attention, and then your opening line is what's used to lead them into the body of the article. Here are a few things you can do to lure in the reader...

  • Ask a question.
  • Make a startling statement.
  • Use an emotion hook.
  • Lay out a problem.

Let me quickly give you a quick swipe file of some opening sentences that I've created - which you can modify as you see fit for your own articles - that are proven to get readers further into your content:

4. Close with a non-subtle call to action.

Your title gets their attention, your opening sentence leads them into the body, and your body should make them interested in your product or service. And that should lead them directly to the desired action.

After all, you're not writing an article just to give your fingers a work-out, you want the reader to do something other than just flip to the next article or web site.

After your article is your resource box where you'll make the actual call to action. What you need to do with the last part of your article is to make a transition between the two -- lead the reader right from the end of the article into the call to action.

One way to do that is to summarize the points you made in your article and then your resource box references something related to those points. That will draw the reader into the offer you're making and encourage them to click your link.

Now you've written your article and given the reader some good information, and you've create a call to action they've taken. They arrive at your web site to see... what?

Bonus Point:

No matter what product or service you're selling, your top priority should be to get prospects onto your list. A large responsive list can mean the difference between a hobby and a business. Which means when people click through from your article, you should have an opt-in form front-and-center.

Come up with a free report, mini-course, etc., and offer that in your article's resource box. Place that offer at the top of your page and after someone joins your list, redirect them to a sales page showing the product or service you're promoting.

Increase Search Engine Ranking With The Keyword Optimization

If you are able to increase search engine ranking by keyword optimization, you will save the time, which the backlink building would take and this method will bring you a lot of backlinks.

We can divide keyword optimization into two parts:
1.The technical part.
2.The qualitative part

1.The technical part. When you write a SEO article, for example, first you will select a theme and the keywords, which are tightly related to that theme. Then you will proceed and examine the top five web sites per your keywords and see, if the SEO is done properly. Are the major keywords in the title, description, keyword-list, h-1-h2-h3-tags and in alt-tags.

If the SEO is not well-done and if the top site has no backlinks( or minimal number ) your web site has the possibility to take that position. The keyword optimization requires, that your keyword density is around 2 % ( 2% of the words are keywords ) and you will use your keyword in all those tags mentioned above. Write your keywords at least once in the bold, italic and underlined font and remember to put them also into the Author Box of your SEO article.

2.The qualitative part.

The SEO article works only, if the reader will get useful information written in an enthusiastic way. You have to think your SEO article content with the eyes of the reader. The job of your SEO article is to draw the reader into the landing page of your biz-opportunity, to make him want more about the topic. And to its increase search engine ranking to reach those visitors.

When you will plan the keyword optimization of your SEO article, select keywords ( two for example ), which will follow each other, like increase search engine ranking with keyword optimization. Now the relationship is natural, which makes it easier to use them.

You can multiply the keyword optimization effect by selecting keyphrases, which include several keyphrases or -words, like: your own internet business ideas and opportunities. Just research quickly how many keywords that includes! All of those are bites for the search engines.

It is good if your keywords are as narrow as possible. Then the reader of the SEO article will get exactly, what he is looking for and the number of disappointed visitors will be minimal.

I have reached good results with this keyword optimization technics even with very competed keywords. And, finally, this technics will increase search engine ranking by building backlinks in two ways: from search engines and when other biz-opportunity owners will pick your SEO article into their web sites.

SEO Keyword Abuse - What Does It Mean?

Writing articles for the Internet, whether as an effective method of bringing attention to your product or service, is quite different from writing articles for print publications like magazines or books.

In Internet writing, there are certain rules to follow, to ensure that the articles are well-written, and generate interest among web readers.

Internet Article Writing Purposes

Internet articles, whether for informative or marketing purposes, is distributed freely via the Worldwide Web. The main purpose is to generate targeted traffic to your website and construct, as well as maintain as list of potential customers.

The articles written are made to provide information to the reader and encourage them to learn further about your business or services. Internet marketing articles could be utilized to promote any type of product, service or specific information. They can be used to promote your website, affiliate marketing program or blog.

The process of writing Internet articles is relatively a simple one, and would generally cost you nothing. This involves writing the article and submitting these to article directories, article announcement lists, and e-magazines.

Internet Article Writing Methods And Techniques

Internet articles are written basically to entice the reader to learn more about the products or services you offer. The article itself is not where you sell the product, instead the article should provide web readers with adequate information, which would make them want o take action and click on your website to learn more. In addition, the articles should be really compelling, or persuasive, so that others would also want to post it on their blogs, websites or newsletters.

Standard Article Lengths

Internet articles generally should be between 400 to 1,200 words in length. It is important to keep the articles fairly within this length, because if it gets too long, the ones reading it may get really bored or begin to click away.

However, if the articles are too short on the other hand, it probably would not provide enough pertinent information. The main objective is to strike a balance between the two aspects. The title of an Internet article is also one of the most important aspects you should keep in mind.

An effective strategy would be to insert the keyword of your article into the title. In order to not compromise the quality of the title, web analysts suggest keeping an article's title between 4 to 7 or 8 words.

How To Prevent Keyword Abuse

In writing your article, you may want to include the primary keyword or phrase, like around 1 to 3 times in each paragraph. Placing keywords needs to make sense, and you would not want overuse the keyword or phrase in a paragraph or sentence, just have it there. For example, you are writing an article on pet food. You may write the paragraph like this one:

"I regularly buy pet food for my cats. I really like the wide array of pet food choices they sell at Petco. They offer different pet food types for cats, dogs, hamsters, rabbits, parrots, and even iguanas".

In viewing the example above, the keyword "pet food" was placed three times, and also blended well into the paragraph. The good thing is that the keyword wasn't overused. In the succeeding example, you will notice that the main keyword is used excessively, and does not properly flow well, making the paragraph difficult to read:

"I regularly buy pet food for my cats. As much as I do, you'd also love the wide array of pet food they sell at Petco. They offer pet food for every type of animal. They have pet food for cats. They have pet food for dogs and rabbits. They also even have pet food for hamsters, parrots and even iguanas."

Article Marketing and Duplicate Content - Is Mass Submission a Killer?

In the past, submitting your articles to as many article directories as possible was a very effective technique. The search engine algorithms were not nearly as complex as they are today and the multiple links were very valuable.

Today, mass article submission is not nearly effective. As a matter of fact, the search engines look at it as a form of spam. SEs like to see unique, quality content and the same article appearing on hundreds of sites is not unique.

Is mass article submission duplicate content? Actually in Googles eyes, it is not. But, that does not mean it is OK to mass submit and this is why. Google defines duplicate content as the same exact content on the same site. When they come across this there is no penalty, they will just index one of the pages and leave the other out of their index. Since articles are submitted to multiple websites and each page has a different style and layout, it is not duplicate content and many of the pages will get indexed.

So why not mass submit? Although many of your articles will get indexed, they will not receive as much weight in the SEs as they would if they were only submitted to a few authority sites. Is it possible for an article to rank high for a long tail keyword after being mass submitted? Absolutely but that same article would have ranked even higher if it were only submitted to the top few sites.

To sum it all up, do not mass submit. But, do not limit your submission to the top few article directories. Find some good ezines in your niche and ask for inclusion. If they like your article they may include it and that has the potential of bringing in a blast of target visitors. It is also a good idea to seek out a few authority websites in your niche that are not necessarily article directories. If you can get your big competitors to publish your articles on their site you can brand your name and be known as an expert in your field.

There are many factors that must be calculated in order to conduct a successful article marketing campaign. Hopefully I have laid one rumor to rest and you can use this newly obtained information to help better serve your home business.

Successful Email Strategies - Give Your Newsletter Personality

What makes you different from any of the other newsletters out there in your market? 1 thing and 1 thing only.

YOUR PERSONALITY.

Don't be a lifeless drone, add some spark to your writing, be funny, be witty, be controversial, just don't be boring!

Tell a story. Stories are a great way to get people hooked before they realize you are actually selling them anything at all.

Find below a story I used to promote a work at home affiliate program. Are You Different?

I don't know about you, but I've always thought I was different to my peers. This is an amusing story that will probably strike a cord with most people who read this book.

When the kids at my school were playing at lunch time, like kids do, I was setting up shop just outside the main oval. The canteen at school never really sold much in the sweet variety, so I use to bring mine to school from the local store as they were much cheaper and had more variety.

I use to come to school with a bag full of lollies and let me tell you, I was one popular kid. Kids were always asking me for lollies all day and it was getting very annoying, so I had to do something quick.

I got sick of giving my hard earned pocket money lollies out for free, so I decided to set up my own little black market lollies trade. I use to buy all sorts of different lollies you could not get from school and I then raised the price 500%. I purchased lollies for 10 cents and sold them for over 50 cents. The market was so big, I had to actually double my supply. In one day I could make $20 just by selling lollies I brought for $5.

Of course, I had certain "high roller" clients that I would give cheaper prices to, which was only fair, as they brought in most of my business. I also had a few people that you gave free lollies too, just to keep the peace.

Eventually more people started doing what I was doing and I had a little competition on my hands.

I stopped selling lollies after a few months as the demand was getting to hectic and the local store had called my mother.

I knew I had a passion in life, but I didn't realise what it was until I was in grade 10 and I quit school to pursue a career in direct mail. Marketing was and is my life, I love it. I read everything I can get my hands on and I have a collection of books that resemble a bookstore. Of course back then I wasn't sure if I wanted to do anything seriously with marketing, but I knew I didn't want to work for anyone but myself.

Everyday I stop and think about what I would be doing if I didn't find out about the joys of working from home, and I never would have if it was not for my father who taught me there is more to life then working 9 till 5 everyday.

SEO Tips - 3 Steps to SEO Made Easy (Part 2)

"SEO Made Easy". Welcome back to the 2nd part of SEO Tips - 3 Steps to SEO Made Easy. Our first 2 steps to improve your SEO rankings for our blog posts or web pages are:

Step #1 - Choose Your Keyword

Step #2 - On-Page Optimization

Let's look at the final important step in SEO Made Easy:

Step #3 - Off-Page Optimization

One of the factors that affect our site's ranking in search engines is having backlinks or inbound links (IBLs) linking back to our sites. This is a highly sought after factor for high SEO ranking, so much so that some people are willing to pay money to get a high ranking. So, how can this be achieved?

  1. Placed Links These are links that YOU can place intentionally by yourself. This is the easiest and most used method that I employ these days to increase my number of backlinks to my blog or websites so as to improve your SEO rankings. You can do this by several ways:

    i. Submitting to Article Directories - When submitting articles to directories, submit to directories that have at least a page rank of 3, like www.ezinearticles.com. This is a great article directory and when your quality articles are copied to blogs or other article directories, you link could get "viral" very fast and you could gain up to 50 backlinks with just one article.

ii. Posting in Forums & Comments- When you write a post in forums, for your signature, just post your blog or website link and anchor the text. This will create not only a free back link but when people read your forum post and they like what you post, it will attract them to click the link and you "drive" traffic to your blog. There are many forums out there. Register and try out: www.warriorforum.com.
Another method is to post comments in blogs and include your signature and a backlink back to your website or blog.

iii. Submitting to Social Bookmark Sites - Users can save links to web pages that they want to remember and/or share on the social bookmarking sites which are usually public for people to see and view. We can post our blog post to social bookmark sites like www.digg.com, del.icio.us, www.reddit.com. Of course you can post to many other social bookmark sites. An easy free online tool to do this is at www.OnlyWire.com which you can use to submit to 18 popular social bookmark sites with the click of a button.

  2. Link Requests You can find sites that are related to yours and send them an email asking them to link to your site. It does work sometimes, so if you're up to the task, go for it. If you're going to do this, remember to be sincere. This could also be done asking the blogger or website owner to review your site or blog. If the website is high in page rank in Google, this will definitely boost your SEO ranking in search engines like Google.
  3. Paid Links You could buy a review from paid review sites like www.reviewme.com. A tip on paid links is to search for sites that rank in the top 10 of your keywords. Find a page that ranks well, but that is not in competition with your site, and send an email to the webmaster, offering cash to add a link to your site from the web page. You can offer $20, $50, $100, or whatever you think is fair.

There you have it. These are not an exhaustive list of SEO techniques for your blog or website but are sufficient for you to get really good results! These are the 3 most used Steps to SEO Success that I always use and are effective to improve your ranking in Google for your keyword search. Try it out and if you have any comments... do post your comments to me below.

The Importance of SEO

Search engine optimisation, SEO, is one of the vital aspects of any website, but it is often overlooked or neglected. A website may look beautiful, the systems may be flawless, but with no visitors, it is a waste. SEO is the process of getting visitors, traffic and ultimately business to your website, primarily through achieving high rankings for your web site on search terms with high volume.

Studies have shown that Internet searchers are a notoriously impatient bunch. Almost 82% of all searchers do not go beyond the first 30 results. More than 60% don't go beyond the first 10 results. If your website is not in the top ten, you are missing out on over 60% of your potential clients. This can prove to be a very costly exercise. Even if you are happy with the traffic you get to your website, and let's say it's 40%. You can get an extra one and a half times that quantity of visitors and business or more as the result of an effective SEO campaign.

There is always advertising available as an option, but that is substantially less effective and more costly. On Google, 70% of searchers prefer the natural results to advertisements. Say the term your site is optimised for has 100 searches a day, and you are in position 12. You'll only get 40% of your potential visitors. If you're in position 21, you'll get about 25%. Position 31 and you'll get less than 19%. If you are number 1, you'll get 100 of them. If you buy an advertisement, you'll get 30% and you pay for each visitor. The moment you stop paying, you stop getting visitors. An SEO campaign on the other hand lasts for years. Once you are at the top, it takes a lot to move you down the results. As such, SEO is the most cost-effective and efficient method of marketing your website.

You also need your site to rank well for the correct keyword or search phrase. One of my favourite examples comes from research I have conducted into the job industry as part of an SEO campaign. The term "search jobs" has 21 searches a day. The term "job search" has over 6000. Number 1 for "search jobs" will give you 21 visitors. Number 1 for "job search" though will give you 6000. Choosing the right keywords is an important part of any SEO campaign.

How do you target the site towards a specific search phrase or keyword? By having the keyword in the title tag, the description and in the content. It should also be in the anchor text of links pointing to that site. If you are in a reciprocal link exchange, and the link to your job site is the name of your company, that is far less effective at promoting your website than a link saying "job search - company name." It's a simple step and seemingly obvious, but many website owners do not do that and their site suffers in it's ranking as a result.

With the right proportion of the key word in relation to your content and sufficient inbound links with the right anchor text, your website can become the number 1 site for that term. There is more to SEO than just that, but those are the 2 essential factors. Without good content, or links, your website will never rank well and will never bring in all the business it could. Article Marketing - How Can Your Really Become Successful With Article Marketing?

First of all, we must define success in article marketing. If you do not know what you are trying to achieve, then how will you know if you have made it or not?

Before we can even talk about how to define success in article marketing, we must think about what are the possible goals with article marketing.

There are two general ways to make money with article marketing: direct traffic, and building long term inbound links to help you gain high search engine rankings for long term traffic.

In the first case, direct traffic, you will be writing a larger number of articles (100-200 per month if you are fulltime online) and submitting them to a small number of high-traffic article directories.

In the second case, you will be writing a smaller number of articles (perhaps 10 per month) and submitting them to up to about 200+ article directories online. This will create high numbers of backlinks to your web site, which will help increase your search engine rankings, so you can develop long-term sources of income.

Which to choose? I think you should have some mix of both of course you have to decide how much of each you want, as any time spent on one takes time away from the other.

One of the biggest keys to success with article marketing is quantifying your goals online and with article marketing, then going out and doing them. That means if you commit to 200 articles written and submitted this month, if you get behind you simply have to work extra to catch up.

5 Essential Strategies to Make Online Selling Easier

One very common mistake that online service professionals make is providing endless information on their website, blog, or ezine without asking for anything in return (i.e. selling a product or service). Now, that doesn't really make much sense, does it? How do you stay in business if you don't have any sales?

I have had clients who simply like to have their products sit obscurely for sale on their websites and do little to make their list members or website visitors aware of what they have for sale for fear of offending their visitors or subscribers. If someone is going to be offended because you're trying to sell to them, then just let them go. You don't need a list of tire-kickers who want to sponge all the free info that they can from you and never buy anything -- you'll never be able to stay in business that way.

Why don't service professionals want to sell? I think there are 3 basic reasons:
1. They are uncomfortable with the process (self-esteem issues tied to not believing in themselves or their product or service) and never ask for the sale.
2. They believe the members of their contact list will revolt if they receive any sales messages.
3. They don't possess a "sales mindset."

I have to chuckle when I do a promotion and get an email from someone on the list who chastises me for "daring" to sell to them and notes that they much prefer to "decide" when they want to buy something from me and then they threaten to leave the list. I just respond that I'm sorry that they feel that way, but unfortunately I'm not a trust-fund baby, and that my hard-earned information has the same value as any info that they might get from their car mechanic, doctor, attorney, or accountant, and I've never seen any of those professionals give away what they know. Unfortunately, when you own an online business, you have to educate your target market that you have to charge for information.

I've come to discover that what's missing in many online business owners is a sales mentality. Creating a sales mentality means that you need to acknowledge that you're in business to make money through selling and that your customers need to become accustomed to having you sell and seeing things for sale all over your websites. Sounds simple, right?

What does an online business owner need to do to foster his/her own sales mentality? Here are 5 strategies to make online selling easier:

1. Acknowledge that selling is integral to your business. Sales isn't a dirty word. How you perceive selling, however, might be. Many online business owners think, "I'm a [fill in industry here], not a salesperson. I need to hire someone to sell for me." Fact is, YOU are really your own best sales person. If you don't believe in the value of what you offer, why will anyone else? In order to make a living, others must know about and buy what you're offering. They're only able to do this is you have a process by which you educate them to give you money for your expertise.

2. Get your list accustomed to seeing sales pitches from you. When's the last time you sent a promotional email to your list? Online business owners need to send at least 2 solo promotional emails a month to their list in order to remain "top of mind" for a specific problem held by their target market. Don't overuse this tactic, however. I've seen service professionals email their lists 4-6 times per week, causing email fatigue with the recipients, who decide that they don't want any more emails from that person and opt off that list. I limit myself to one weekly email that is my ezine, which contains promotional material, as well as one promotional email when I'm running a sales special or am holding a special event.

3. Ensure that your marketing materials tell prospects how to buy. Make it as easy as possible for your contact list to buy from you. If you're selling information products, make the "buy now" button readily apparent on your sales pages. If you're selling a service, give your target market several options to contact you to buy your service -- by email, voice mail, instant message, etc.

4. Incorporate the "law of attraction" into your sales mentality. A sales mentality doesn't have to equate to slimy. I think one of the most attractive ways to sell yourself is by sharing your knowledge and expertise with your target market. As a matter of fact, I'm often told that this is one of the reasons people seek me out to hire me -- I don't hide what I know and am willing to share freely, within reason, of course. I think of selling as helping my prospects solve their problems, and my enthusiasm is evident as we start to brainstorm and dissect how to rid them of a particular problem. Let your enthusiasm for problem-solving serve as your attraction mechanism for new clients.

5. Show your prices. Many service business owners won't list their pricing or fee structure anywhere on marketing materials because they feel it's necessary to "sell" themselves on how wonderful they are via a 1:1 conversation before discussing money. I don't really want to work that hard. I'd rather prospects come to me fully informed about all aspects of working with me. Be open and transparent with your pricing -- don't make prospects jump through hoops to ascertain if they can afford to hire you. I use my fees as a screening device -- those who can't afford my rates won't call, and those who can afford the rate know exactly how much they will spend. Consequently, when people call me to hire me, the first thing they say is, "When can we start working together?" Now, wouldn't you rather have that type of conversation with a prospect?

A sound sales mentality is necessary for success in any business. Make sure that you're educating your target market about how to buy from you.

Your Get Clients Online Assignment: Take a moment to assess your website, your blog, your ezine, and other marketing materials. Is it easy to purchase from you? Is it clear that you have a product or service for sale? If not, start incorporating the above suggestions today and see how much your sales increase.

How to Link To Your Website When Writing Articles

Pointing to your website is essential to high rankings in the search engines. However, you must know how to link to your website properly to get the full benefits of linking. If you dont link properly, they could kill your marketing efforts.

Often times, many writers make the same mistakes. They typically try to send someone to their website directly from their article. WithIn the resource box, they provide a raw link with the URL of the website. Below is one of the biggest mistakes that an author can make:

If you enjoy shopping find out how you can get cash back from your online shopping. ShopAyopahonline.com. They typically put their complete URL with "www." here. Big mistake!

Most often, writers will use the same generic resource box in all or their articles, no matter the topic of their writing. Unfortunately, because they use this resource box, the wrong way, they get very few benefits from their writing efforts.

Writers must understand that in order to rank high in the search engines for a keyword phrase, the most important factor that will allow them to achieve their goal is having links from external websites using keyword phrases linking to the writer.

If hundreds of websites say that your site is talking about Shoes, even if the keyword shoes is not on your site, search engines will believe the majority. When a searcher enters shoes, search engines will for sure show your website. This has been proven numerous times, you can try it yourself:

Open Google.com and enter the following query: worst president without the quotes. Have a look at the #1 website (www.whitehouse.gov/president), the text worst president doesnt exist in the page at all!

This tactic is so powerful that if you spent enough efforts into it, you could redirect people looking for Wendys to the Mc Donalds website!

Its VERY EASY to create useful links. Take the example of someone promoting a website about shopping online.

1. The first thing to do, is to use this keyword phrase or some variations of this keyword phrase in the anchor text of your link. If youre not familiar with HTML, it is done like that: This HTML code creates a link like: Anchor Text

2. Then in the resource box, you have to use as many related terms as you can because search engines, especially Google, take the surrounding text into account.

Take a look at the resource box at www.freetrafficbuildingreport for this article, you will see with I mean. There are several links to the website using related keyword phrases. The surrounding text is also using related terms, even if they are not links, they will help the search engines and tell them what your website is talking about. Creating such resource boxes when you submit your articles to article directories will increase ten folds the benefits of your links.

Another important point is to use different resource boxes and different anchor texts each time you submit a new article. Dont waste your writing efforts because of a poor linking strategy! Use this tactic right now and be amazed by the results.

Does Your Ghost Writer Have A Link Generating Strategy?

Many excellent ghost writers are artistes and worry only about the quality of their writing while totally ignoring the "business side" of promotional articles. Yet the two cannot do without each other.

It is like writing a masterpiece of a novel, printing it and then failing to get it out there where potential readers can get their hands on it. Nay, it is worse than that and more like hiding the printed copies of your potential best seller in some dark attic where it will never be found.

Sounds ridiculous, doesn't it? But that is exactly what is being done online the whole time when some ghost writer posts a promotional article in every article directory they can find and hopes for the best.

To be effective an online writer needs to go beyond keyword research to ask themselves which particular article out of the batch that they have written has the best chance of being ranked highest by leading search engines. When they have answered that question, they will then need to ensure that they link all their other articles accordingly to that one single article and also use the right anchor text with frequent variations. They will also need to know how many articles need to be written to generate what kind of level of traffic.

For instance I have found that a batch of about 100 promotional articles is the bare minimum one needs to get done to start seeing an impact on the traffic of a site. It actually depends a lot on the subject matter and the keyword phrases involved. There are some instances when this number of promotional articles posted with a good link generation strategy has opened the floodgates of traffic. And what I find really exciting about promotional articles is the fact that once they've been posted correctly, they can generate traffic for you for many, many years.

This kind of approach to promotional articles online by an excellent ghost writer can make a phenomenal difference.

An effective ghost writer also needs to know the most effective ghost writer article directory to post their article to so as to receive tons of traffic through their links in the resource box.

Seven No No's To Article Marketing

Today, having your articles available for other ezine publishers and webmasters is one of the strategies in building a massive amount of pre-qualified visitors to your website.

In order to have your articles picked up and massively distributed by others, there are seven no nos not to make.

GRAMMAR ERRORS

Have your article proofed by others. Also, you might want to be sure that you have clearly defined paragraphs. Nothing is worse than a massive amount of text with 20 run-on sentences.

Readers often 'scan' your article, and no longer read articles in depth. Then you want snack size bites of information that can be easily digested also known as "info-snacking."

Use your same voice throughout the entire article. If you are writing in the first person (I, me) or the second person (you, we, us) or the third person (they, them, he, she) dont deviate, stay in one voice for the entire article. Not keeping the same voice can make a reader shy away; it can make the article unprofessional and hard to read. This looks unprofessional and be frustrating to the reader.

BRAGGING AND SELF-PROMOTION

If you are that good and know you are, there is no reason to fill the body of the article with razzmatazz, gratuitous links to your site or flagrant self-promotion. Readers are smart and will see right through you.

Its better to only sell or pitch your company in the RESOURCE BOX below the body of the article. According to some research I've done the resource box often gets a 3% click through rate. Take advantage of that and not sell in the body of the article.

WHAT YOU NEED TO LEARN, NOT WHAT READER NEEDS

For a minute put yourself in the shoes of the reader's and ask "What does this article offer me?" Research what your reader wants by doing surveys with your own audience or give keyword search engine research a shot to find what people are really searching for.

BROAD OR SUPERFICIAL IN CONTENT

Use creativity and imagination throughout the article. This will allow readers to enjoy what you have to say much more. Plant your feet and dig in on a narrow topic. Define it, explain it and relate to it. Add your own secret or expertise that you have relating to the topic. Be original in your topic, remaining on a narrow focus but in a way that is unique.

GRAB THE READERS ATTENTION

Headlines are often the initial reason why someone might read your article. Don't be boring. Somewhat entertain your audience, use your imagination. If you have a dull headline or a boring introduction to the article readers will most likely move on to something else. Keep it simple and make it brief. Use keyword research tools to optimize your article title.

OUTSIDE OF THE BOX

Make your articles informative but also entertaining. This allows the reader to be fully interested and really enjoy it. For instance, take an instructional article on fixing the toilet. Saturday morning is here, we all know that this is something that has to be done not a question of if you want to. While getting ready to start this project you will think of at least seven different things you could be doing and now you are very annoyed. Step by step articles are good for instructional purposes but a little flare never hurt. If the person fixing the toilet can find some humor in it then it makes for a much better and maybe smoother project.

RESOURCE BOX

The RESOURCE BOX is your pay-off for giving your article up for free, but don't abuse the welcome mat by including an overwhelming amount of website addresses. Stick with one website URL or two at the most and your article may find a higher distribution rate. A strategy is to have a domain name registered for every affiliate program that you pitch and include the domain name that rewrites or refreshes to your affiliate link. This is looks and is much more professional.

Breakthrough Article Marketing Secrets - Learn How To Build A Huge Responsive List

One of the most difficult parts of building a successful internet business is building a list. I remember when I first started online I was struggling to see any results.

It was at this stage I realized that all the top gurus have very big lists. They send out an email promotion and a day later they have made tens of thousands of dollars in sales. I knew I wanted a big list. So I started advertising my squeeze pages in traffic exchanges and safelists. However, the results was not exactly what I was looking for.

It was at this stage I came across article marketing. I knew this would work for. It is a very hands off approach to driving traffic to your squeeze page. With ppc or ezine advertising you need to spend a lot of time tweaking your adverts for maximum conversion. You also get to waste a lot of money in the process. I was on a shoestring budget so I did not want to spend thousands of dollars in advertising. The other advantage is that the quality of traffic that you will get is also a lot higher.

Let me go through the process that you need to follow to build a list using articles. You need to write articles focusing on your niche market. For example this could be solving problems that your reader will face. Also make sure to help the reader first as this will significantly boost your result.

Finally, submit your articles to the major article directories. You will include a link to your squeeze page in your resource box. I suggest that you offer a free ebook for download. If the reader likes what you have to say they will subscribe to your newsletter.

Amazing Kick Butt Article Marketing Strategies Bring Traffic Home

Short of Branding your backside and making it visible to the media, what can you do to get your articles noticed and your site busy? Well, branding, for starters.

I am amazed at the number of articles I read that are dry, lackluster, boring to read, and essentially have nothing to say. Not that I haven’t written my share of boring Articles that didn‘t Market anything but a good night‘s sleep, but … the score is to write more and more Articles that bring traffic home, because your Article Marketing skills are improving.

Just for kicks here, I’m going to pick apart an email I just received asking about “Article Marketing and How to Get Noticed” and answer some questions from a client, via this article. Hopefully, this Strategy Article will shed some light on this process and make Article Marketing Strategies a bit clearer than mud (at the very least).

1. How do you GRAB ATTENTION?

Keywords in title. Everyone pulls keyword searches and snaps up those top keyword articles from the search result, so you need to “Be there”. Fill your articles with keywords and effectively market your topic.

Attention grabbers in title. Using words that grab your reader and hold him hostage until he reads more. (simple, amazing, free, discount, secret - these are hostage holders) A few Attention Grabbing words in a Keyword Rich Title provide effective ‘get notices techniques’.

Teaser intros bring ‘em in. Put just enough keyword rich information in your ‘intro’ to capture their attention, but not enough to give them get away power. Don’t tell them the secret, just remind them you have a secret to share. Questions are effective here.

2. Get your Articles Picked-up and Published.

Relevant content. Be sure you pack your articles with actual informative content relevant to the keywords you selected. Keep the content related to the title and follow through with keyword rich informative content. Use bullets, bold, italics to identify parts, and be consistent. Use keywords throughout your Article Marketing Process to keep the reader interested.

Controversial ideas. Be bold. Write a statement using keyword dense commentary that bucks the system. If you agree with the premise, make it a question, but capture your reader with a controversial viewpoint. Put your opinion in a statement that gets you noticed, and puts your name up there. Don’t crack heads with your viewpoint, but do get noticed. Milk Toast never did anything for anyone other than bore them to sleep on Saturday night.

3. Create a template to Simplify the Writing Process.

Introduce your idea. Give a summary of introduction to your Article content with the introductory paragraph. This should invite them to read the Article subtitles and look for more relevant content within the form of the Article.

Use Bullets & Subtitles. Make your points with keyword rich bullets and subtitles to keep the article succinct and to the point. One or two paragraphs under each bullet or subtitle make the article worth reading.

Conclusions Rock. End your article with a conclusion that tells the reader what you want them to do. Give them an option. Tell them to take action.

4. Maximize Keyword Count.

Edit for keyword optimization. After you’re done with your article, go back and edit to add in keywords. The more keyword density your article has, the better your article will sell or promote. Article Marketing is all about keyword density, search engine optimization, and maximizing the recognition factor of your website, brand, and topic. The more keyword density you use in the articles, the more your ‘brand’ will be recognized and your site specifically will be searched for online.

5. Create an Author Box with Linking Power.

Power-charge your Author Box. Put specific keyword dense items in your author box every time and it will impress your reader. Your name, your website, and a call to do something.

Call to action. Putting a call to action in your author box gives the reader direction. “Sign up for my ezine.” “Visit my website.” “Order my ebook.” These are directions that hypnotize the reader to action. They give the reader directions, and people follow directions.

Name and Website. These are “duh” inclusions. Without them, your reader doesn’t know who you are, or where you are, and lacks important information about where the article came from. Give your articles credibility and brand them with your identity.

These Kick Butt Article Marketing Strategies bring traffic to your site because they work every time, all the time. Ask any Article Marketer about their process or strategy and they will tell you “Be consistent”, brand your niche and effectively use your brand in every article.

Whatever strategy you choose to use with Article Marketing, make it your own, use it deliberately and consistently and you will achieve your goals.

Lucrative Article Marketing - Latest 4 Turbo Steps to Excel at Article Marketing

One of the best ways to excel at article marketing is carefully choosing the topics to write about. You must focus on those that are highly related to your products and services so you can drive quality traffic to your website. By this, I simply mean that if you are selling cars, articles about cars will surely attract those people who are most likely to get interested on what you offer.

1. Keep your articles short and simple. In order to advance in this field, you have to understand that the audience you are serving have limited attention span and they do not appreciate reading articles that will take so much of their time. So, keep your articles short and make sure that they are easy to understand. Substitute complicated words with simple terms to easily get your message across.

2. Consider the rules by publishing sites. Don't worry, they don't ask for too much. Publishers will post your articles online as long as they are free from blatant ads, hyperlinks, and inappropriate content and they meet the minimum word count.

3. Use interesting titles. Your titles can either make or break your marketing strategies. This is the first element of your articles that your readers will be able to connect to as such, you need to make sure that they are impacting to compel online users to open and read your articles.

4. Consider the search engines. It is important that your articles are properly indexed by search engines so they will be highly searchable online. This can easily be done by understanding the algorithms of various search engines and using keywords throughout your content.

Link Development: The Key to Success in Online World

The number of websites linking to your website not only directly increases the number of visitors to your website, they also indirectly help with search engine optimisation and as such the more links your website has the better it is rated.

Everyone knows that you have to have inbound links into your site in order for the search engines to value it and rank it highly against your chosen keywords. But is it better to buy those links from a link broker or directly from the site itself, or to go through time-consuming effort of building reciprocal links? The problem with links, is in actually gaining enough links on enough websites to actually make it worthwhile, although reciprocal links are effective, they are extremely hard to gain and although you might gain a few hundred links in this way you will never gain the potential thousands that a suitable link development strategy can achieve.

Let us be clear: both of these methods are clearly against the spirit of the Google ranking algorithm, which uses the quality and quantity of inbound links as a substitute for having someone actually look at your site and take a view on its quality and value. Quite apart from the subjective nature of such a judgment, the sheer number of web pages out there would make this an impossible task. So links are - for better or for worse - the easiest proxy for a human judgment. However, both paid links, or text link ads, and reciprocal links clearly subvert the intent of the link-counting algorithm, since neither of them represent the disinterested judgment of real people; both are nakedly designed to deceive Google and the other search engines into thinking that more people value your site than your competitors, when quite the opposite might be true.

Nonetheless, for the time being, it is undeniable that you can buy your way into favour with the search engines either by paying for text link ads or by spending time persuading other people to reciprocate links with your site. Which is better? Hard-won experience with both strategies suggests that a combination of both is ideal. Unless your site and your links pages have themselves some PageRank your reciprocal link building process is going to be slow and painful. Webmasters with high PR sites will not see much value in linking to you, and it will take a long time to build PR through linking to low or zero PR sites.

This implies a simple strategy: buy some high PR text link ads, point them at both your homepage and your links page and wait for the PR to feed through and for Google to give you a decent PR on both pages. In the meantime you can start on the process of reciprocal link building with lower-ranked sites, and once your own ranking has come through you can start to request links from high-value sites. When the receiving webmaster sees that you can offer him links from a PR4 or 5 web page he will be much more inclined to treat you with civility and offer you high-ranking links in return. Pretty soon after this you will be able to stop paying for text link ads and start benefiting from the free marketing that comes with a top-ranked site for your chosen search terms.

Link development is fundamental for search engine marketers. It's very difficult for a site to get long-term search engine traffic without it. The focus should always be on high-quality links, not a large quantity of low-quality links. SEMs must teach their clients how to correctly request links from high-quality, non-competitive sites. With successful link development, Web sites can receive long-term, cumulative search engine traffic. Just do it right.

Resource Box and Click Thru Data Considerations in Online Article Marketing

Many online article marketers believe that the resource box or section for the author's byline should be contiguous and I must say that I absolutely agree. Because I have noticed that it also decreases the chances of people lifting articles, taking your name off and stealing your work. This means you get more "pick-ups" and syndicated usage where the link to your website is still in tact.

Should Online Article Submission Sites Give Click Thru Stats?

Many authors such as my self would like to know the click thru stats on our articles. I believe this can be done with site tracking software to see where surfers go, how long they stay on a page and where they click out too. So, this information is known and it is valuable information too, I agree.

Further, if a reader finishes an article that is of value, the average reader can finish a 300 word article in about 1 minute to 1:30 and longer articles will have more folks clicking out before they completely read the article and less likely to bother to scroll down the page, but it would take about 2-3 minutes for a 600 word article and 4 to 6 minutes for a 1,000 to 1200 word article.

Question is; are the readers interested in that much reading, as Internet Surfers are "Click Happy" group of mal-contents with the attention span of a gnat. And mind you I mean a very nice, loving insect type gnat, with hopes and dreams and an iPod as they go.

So if your content gets too thick, then see ya, they are gone, if this is not your clientele you probably do not care, because they are not your target market anyway. But if they click out due to too much thick content, their click-out "Vote" would go against your quality rating.

There is a relative truth about the Internet Surfer and their behavior and a reality of how online article marketing works. I would advise authors to do what works for them, even though some of the silly stupid articles are degrading the language, literature in general and an insult to my intelligence? Thoughts and more thoughts for you.

Make Money by Attracting Ezines and Webmasters to Your Articles

Attracting large numbers of ezines and webmasters is the cornerstone of success for any article marketing program. The more sites that publish your work, the more money you will make. If twenty ezines publish your article, it can get 20,000 page views. The question is, how do you entice these influential ezines. Use the following techniques to polish your article for these influential publishers.

Put all of your links in the resource box. Self-serving links in the body of the article is a definite turn-off for ezines and webmasters. Keep all of your links in the resource box.

Don't try to load up your resource box with links from every affiliate you deal with. One or two well thought out links will serve you much better than four or five.

Do a thorough spelling and grammar check on your work. Most word processors come with one, make sure you use it. In addition, do a slow and careful proofreading of your article. Your spelling checker will identify the word "kite" as being spelled correctly, even though you intended to type the word "kit." Only a thorough reading will find this kind of error.

Space your article by separating it into a number of different paragraphs. It makes it easier to read from the computer screen and creates less eye-strain.

Keep your personal life history to yourself. No one really cares where you went to school or how many kids you have. Stay focused on the core information that your article provides.

Provide targeted information rather than broad generalities. Unless it is a new concept, most people are not looking for broad generalities. They want specific details. Articles that explain the what, where, why, and how of a concept are much more widely distributed than articles than ramble on about generalities.

Most ezines and webmasters want to provide their readers with the best product possible. They want readers to come back next week and the week after that. With so many articles to choose from, ezines can afford to be choosy. Ezines and webmasters will choose the best article possible that minimizes mistakes and maximizes information. Provide a quality product that satisfies these goals and you may attract large numbers of ezines.

5 Killer Backlink Building Strategies For Blogs

If a blog is an additional medium, a part of the web site, it is sometimes quite time consuming to build backlinks, so it is nice to know that there is one automatic way to handle that issue.

In this article I will present 5 backlinks building techniques, which I have used successfully.

1. Article Writing.

The article marketing is the same kind of an operation than blogging and that is why it suits so well for the blogger. Articles will bring backlinks quickly, when they are mass distributed to hundreds or thousands of web sites and article directories.

The keywords are in a very important role, because the directory readers will pick the articles by keywords, so the blog traffic is dependable of those.

Summary: article mass distribution brings visitors and builds backlinks but does not mean high search engine ranking, because of the duplicate content issue.

2. Reciprocal Links.

A blogger can get reciprocal links for the blog either by using some software, which can bring thousands of links quite quickly. The problem is that the link building takes time and the search engines can see these links as a link farm, which will lead to the penalties.

Another way is to join some link exchange program or to ask for the link exchange manually from a single webmaster. These two ways are very slow ones and it will take time before the link number is big enough.

3. Join Related Groups Of The Search Engines.

The major search engines have different same thinkers groups. That is a good source of traffic but needs of course participation from the blogger. It is important to note, that belonging to a group is just a technique, but what really matters is the useful, quality content.

4. Quality Is The King.

The best backlinks come from the quality content. When the content of the blog is constantly on a high level, the blog readers want to bookmark it, which means repeated visitors and a regular traffic. It also means that some readers will quote the posts, which has a lifting effect to the image of the blog owner and the blog

The blogposts must always be original to be able to avoid penalties

5. Forum Posts.

The related discussion forum is a great source of backlinks. The forum links work in two ways: every post builds a backlink, if the blog url is in the sig file, and the forum members can link to the blog. It is important to note, that all forum posts build credibility and image, so it matters how they are written. Each forum post can be optimized and this makes it possible that the search engines will pick the post, which means some more traffic.

Book Marketing, 5 Powerful Strategies

There are many tools that you can use to market your book both online and offline. To offer benefit to all self published authors and those that are looking to self publish, this article will address both.

Offline Book Marketing:

Write an article. No matter what industry you are in, from pet care to astrophysics, there is a publication for you. In fact there are probably numerous publications. Choose one or two that relate to your books topic and offer to write an article for them. Make sure to include your name, your books title, and your website address in your bio or author signature at the bottom of your article.

Give a free workshop. Just like there are an abundance of periodicals relevant to your books topic. There are likely an abundance of organizations and special interest groups. Offer to speak on a subject that offers particular benefit to your readers and target market. Dont forget to bring your book or if blatant self promotion isnt allowed, then bring your business card printed with a coupon for 10% off of your book and hand them out.

Direct Mail. Direct mail doesnt have to be the typical junk mail that we all receive in our mailbox daily. A simple postcard announcement sent to everyone you know, have done business with, or that has expressed an interest in your books topic will do the trick. You can also place a special offer on the postcard, a discount or coupon to encourage purchases.

Online Book Marketing

Forums and Message Boards. If you dont already belong to a few forums on your books topic, search the internet and find a few. Research the forums to make sure that theyre relevant, well monitored, and that youre able to have a signature should you post any comments. If you cant have a signature then it may be wise to find a different forum. Part of the reason to register is to be able to passively market your expertise and your book. Once youve found a forum or two, register and participate. Help people with your knowledge. Dont blatantly sell, that will get you kicked out of the club. Let your expertise do your selling and your forum signature do your marketing. (Of course make sure that your signature has your name, books title, and website in it.)

Newsletter and email marketing. Encourage website visitors to sign up for your regular newsletter. Use each newsletter to provide your potential customers with valuable information as well as special offers, announcements, and testimonials or case studies related to your books information.

There are an abundance of fun tools and strategies to market your book both online and offline. Your imagination is the only limit let it soar and see how many books you can sell!
