Article Marketing Advanced Tips for Success

Article marketing is my primary method of traffic generation and profit creation. Yes, article marketing is extremely powerful, and one of the greatest things about it is that it seems to have no bounds.

Now, I realize that it probably does, but when you realize that probably only 100 people in the world make a full time income online, contrasted to 1000s in other internet marketing niches, there is a lot of room for growth and new entrants.

What are some of my advanced secrets for article marketing success?

1) I write articles prolifically. I believe that there is power in numbers, and I believe in massive action. I know how many subscribers my average article nets me, and I know the profit level of my average article-generated subscriber. This is one of the most important numbers in my business.

2) I currently only use one article directory for all my article submissions. I have done extensive testing and have found that like 95% of all my traffic came from that one site, when I used to post to around 100 different article directories. Another note on that: testing is critical to everything you do. If you are not testing, you are missing out on profit opportunities, for sure. You just have to test. When you test, you often find ways to make things work that no one else has discovered, and you also find out that some things dont work as well as the experts would have you believe.

3) I write my articles aggressively. The only reason I write is to get people to click through and be prequalified to like me when they get there. Thats it. Forget about trying to please everyone I dont care who closes this article without clicking, I only care that the ones that click through genuinely like me and want more information.

I also believe in intense targeting when you write your articles articles are not read by people looking for general information, in my opinion, on the other hand, they are read by people who need specific information. So write your articles to the person who needs something specific today, and they will respect you and look for you tomorrow when they need more information.

By the way, just a note on the internet marketing niches when you specialize, you eliminate the tire kickers. Let me explain if you are marketing to the general public about starting an internet business, you get everyone who is just getting started and only like 5% of them ever make any money. And if they are not making money online, most of them are not going to continue to spend it. Sure, they will buy the first course or two, but I am looking for the long-term customer. The person who gets on one of my specialized niche lists, they probably already have an online business and are actively spending money to promote their business. I am going after a piece of that pie, rather than trying to create new believers in internet marketing.

So I obviously believe there is more money to be made in the internet marketing niches, and the same thing applies: write targeted information to get the best subscribers, the ones who are actively working the business and are spending money on tools. Beginners arent generally spending money, and when you write beginner articles or general articles, that is who you are targeting by default someone who is just looking, hoping and wishing they could get started online, but hasnt spent the money to do it. Let someone else convince people to get started online, and you go for the people who are already spending it.

In article marketing, I have identified two distinct strategies that will drive traffic to your web site.

One strategy is direct traffic. Direct traffic comes from the biggest article directories: ezinearticles, searchwarp, goarticles, easyarticles, weeno, and articlesbase. If they're page-ranked five or six, they're going to be able to drive you some traffic.

The second strategy with article marketing is inbound link building. Up until recently, I've used a list of about fifty article directories. I'm doing some testing currently. I have a guy that's submitting my articles for me. I've written two articles in the last two days that are written specifically for sending these to these full lists. I've actually got a list of about three-hundred article directories, and we're going to have one article in every single one of those. And we're just going to focus on massive link building. I think that you have to decide whether or not you are wanting to drive quick traffic, or if you want to build links, like I am doing.

If you want to build up long-term search-engine traffic, use my second article marketing strategy. This can take time--it's no magic bullet. If you submit your article to one-hundred directories tomorrow, you're not going to all of the sudden start getting tons of high rankings from the search-engines. Keep in mind: you're not the only person out there in your niche, writing articles. It's really a long-term strategy, in terms of submitting to lots of article directories and creating lots of inbound links

Every website owner knows that the Internet game is Traffic. No matter what kind of website you have you need to have traffic to your website in order to reach out and let people see what you have to offer. But when your website is a business website like Home business or affiliate programs, you must have traffic. It is be or not to be situation.

What are the sources of traffic?

1. Search engines. Search engines provide about 60% of the traffic to the most successful websites, it is free, targeted and last for long time. But you need to be indexed high in the search engines to obtain such traffic.

I have this software; I used it and found it very useful. But the basic principle of how this software works made me develop a new strategy of submitting my website.

How it works. It is simply brows the internet with build in links to the directories directly to the submit form and with one click you can fill the form and submit. So know I have the RoboForm it is auto form fill software. Edit one Identity with your website information, in the custom field you have the field name ( that will appears on the website form) and the field value that you want to fill. The first call it URL put your URL the second make title the third description and keyword field. Know you need to visit the directories and submit your link. You can make a search and go one by one.

2. Article distribution. Write articles that is keyword rich and submit them to article directories. Use the same strategy we used before in the directories submission. This way we can use one software " RoboForm" to be as a directory submission and article submission software. It is easy fast and manual submission.

Do not forget to write a Bio info and put your link in the resource box. Publish your own Blog, use Google Blogger and publish your articles on it. You can also hunt for sites that complement yours and ask them to publish your articles.

3. Be active on the net, participate in forums and post your link in the signature file. Forums are very powerful if you know how to use them. Be professional serious, stick to the rules and participate only with your niche forums; if your website about flowers it will not help you to participate in cars forums.

Read Blog posts and comment to them, Do not spam. Submit brief, useful hints to newsletters. Write testimonials or reviews for products you love. Companies often post testimonials on their site with a link to the submitting site.

4. You can also use social bookmarks sites. I do not use them but I know they will be great traffic source; if you are willing to give them some of your time.

When a search engine sees a valid link that they follow they use the anchor text to determine the subject of that page. They will then include this page in results for searches that are based on or very close to those keywords. Therefore, using anchor text of Click Here means you will be increasing your search engine visibility for anyone searching for the term Click Here. On Google the term Click Here currently 391 million results. Even if you genuinely wanted to compete in this area you would have no chance.

Using your domain name as anchor text poses similar problems. It is helpful with brand recognition and also ensures that should a surfer explicitly search for the name of your service they will be shown your site first. But how many people do you think find your site by searching for your domain name? The answer, unfortunately, is very few indeed. Always use keywords as your anchor text and make sure that this keyword is included on the page of your site that the link points to.

Using an irrelevant but popular keyword may seem like a good idea but it is a very dangerous game. Adult and online business keywords are among the most popular but when conducting any link building you MUST use keywords in anchor text that directly relate to that page of your site. I might notice that the term blue widget (a surprisingly popular choice of keyword for these purposes) receives a lot of searches and use that as the anchor text to point to this article. If I hadnt included the search term above then Google and other engines would give the link no weight at best. At worst, and if I were to do this regularly, they would flag me, my page, my site, and my IP address as spam. A much better choice of keyword, and therefore anchor text for this article would be link building.

Ideal Article Length For Submitting To Directories

Articles submitted to directories can range in length from blog post sized 200 word articles to much more substantial articles of 1,000 to 2,000 words. Anything larger is unlikely to attract any substantial attention but these longer articles less than 2000 words in length are good ammunition for e-zines and electronic newsletters. Even these can gain good links if each issue is archived. They will also usually gain a very good amount of direct traffic.

Choosing Beneficial Article Directories For Your Article Submission

So, the article directories you choose should allow the use of anchor text. They should also offer either a high PageRank or a lot of traffic. PageRank can be viewed using the Google toolbar and anything below PageRank 3 is virtually useless unless the site receives a lot of traffic or is brand new and looks set to become popular in the near future. Alexa is a very good site to help determine the amount of incoming traffic that a site receives. Use as many directories as you can possibly find and submit your article to each one. Try to alter the About The Author section for each directory that you submit to.

List-Building: Start with Your Passion and List Building

People new to Internet Marketing often ask me, "Whats the best way to start in Internet marketing?"

Im going to tell you a story about myself as a case study.

When I started, I had no HTML experience, and I couldnt put up a decent web page. I sucked at writing copy and I didnt know how to edit audio. I didnt know what an autoresponder series was, I didnt know how to make a redirect, and I didnt know how to approach people properly for a joint venture. I had no idea that list building was where any newbie should start. I think youre beginning to get the point, right? I didnt know anything.

The way that I got focused was to decide what I wanted to accomplish, and I knew that I would get distracted, if it wasnt a big deal.

So I came up with a goal that was massive to get me excited every day, when I woke up in the morning. I wanted to come up with a goal that would be inspiring to potential joint venture partners, too.

The first goal I had in mind was being incredibly successful marketing my attention deficit, self-improvement training online, and I needed to learn how to do that. So, the whole time I was learning marketing, the whole ADD idea was going on in the background for me. I wanted to be the Tony Robbins of attention deficit disorder, but I needed to figure out how to do that.

You can make a link between what youre doing with marketing, with your income, or your life and marketing, too. The question is "how" and thats where you have to apply some creativity. The first part is to really identify with what it is youre trying to go for and why it is youre doing what youre doing. Its the big picture here. You need to learn as much as you can about Internet marketing, so that you can achieve what you want to achieve, and it needs to start with list building

I figured that out intuitively. I thought, How am I going to learn about Internet marketing? Make a lot of contacts with self-improvement experts like Jack Canfield, Mark Victor Hansen and all those guys in the process? "Yes," I said, Im going to learn about list building because list building seems to me to be at least one of the core skills that a lot of successful Internet marketers seem to have mastered. Sure enough, list building happens to be one of those core skills. In fact, list building is THE core skill.

What I did next was I said, Im going to start list building with List Crusade and the goal is to build a list of a million subscribers in six months or less. Im going to do that and Im going to teach all of my subscribers about list building, as I do it. Thats my goal and Im going to promote the heck out of all of my joint venture partners that helped me get this thing launched by emailing their own lists.

Heres what this has to do with mindset: I came up with a goal that was inspiring to me and it was a huge goal. And I'm still list building every day because of what I learned. As a result Ive become a super-affiliate for most of the people that I promote.

What Im saying to you is: First, have a personal goal, and then, have a more specific goal, as it relates to Internet marketing, such as list building (which is where any online marketer needs to begin). Then, go after something huge that gets you excited every day and gets other people excited when you talk to them about it. Then, your chances of success are exponentially increased.

Just remember to start by list building, and you'll be on your way.

Look under the results tab in the top right corner. Any number below 500 is good and would be highly optimization and profitable.

3. Find 5 other key phrases using the above method.

4. This is the important part. Write 5 different articles under each of the different phrases and it is crucial that you include the entire phrase into your title.

5. Submit the articles and youre done!

As you can see, this is a very easy model to follow and profit from. If done right in right niches, it can bring in an additional income stream for you!

You can accept this fact as truth: People have made small fortunes with their opt-in lists. And finally today you're in a place (in your heart and mind) where you're ready to dedicate some of your time and resources to growing YOUR OWN opt-in list.

The best way to achieve this result is to begin with THAT end-goal in mind. You want your customers to trust you your products. So begin by writing articles on your area of expertise. Post them not only in forums but on article directory sites. This is the beginning phase of building your credibility, your online identity, and your brand. Always link-back to your site so that readers are able to see what your online business is all about, and what products you are offering.

Even if you are promoting others' products, it's truly hard for someone to trust and believe your recommendation if they haven't first developed a relationship with you. THAT's your goal and purpose.

The next thing is to keep a common theme in the material you send to your list. For example, if you are building a list of pet owners, there's likely no point in mailing out an offer for a new weight-loss product since it will just confuse your readers. Keep your e-courses product offers and other material to a common thread. Again you're building rapport and credibility with your subscribers.

Third, is to keep in touch with those on your list. In the past I built lists, and many months would go by between mailings. So when I finally did launch a new product and send a mailing to my list, it was ineffective. Why? They didn't remember who I was.

How often you should mail your list will vary. Personally I think that daily is just a bit too frequent, but I also subscribe to lists that the sender mails the subscribers typically twice daily.
